1. What is your name / nickname /age / occupation?
Pascal den Enting/Pascal1973 if allowed "*** Hard", Technical Engineer
2. What did you first come here for?
I came to Guru3d because of issues I had running 9800GX2 Quad SLI, and after that became a regular visitor, because there is a ton of info at the site .Nearly every problem you will encounter, hardware or software can be solved with help of other Guru's here!
3. What do you mainly use the system for?
I use my rig mainly for Sim-Racing, gaming and benchmarking.
4. How much money did you spend on the rig as it is right now?
To be honest Ii don't want to know.....The parts for the pc were just over 5000€, Custom gaming seat was build by myself, with seat, Fanatec wheel and club sport pedals, Butt kicker screens and additional toys like it would be about 7000€ I think...not something to be reminded of too often.
5. How often do you update/buy a new rig?
I update a few times a year, be it Graphics cards, SSD's or whatever i stumble upon.6 months ago, I was running a 920 on a Rampage2 Extreme, I then got a P6T6WS,and I just upgraded to a 980x,and a new case, with additional rad. I just like to build stuff.

6. What components are used?
7. Why ATI or NVIDIA, why Intel/AMD?
* Motherboard: P6T6WS Revolution
* Processor: Intel Corei7 980x Extreme Edition
* CPU cooler: Watercool Heatkiller Rev. 3.0
* 2 Sapphire 5970's OC Edition
* GPU coolers: EKFC5970 Nickel/Plexi Waterblocks
* OCZ Platinum 2000 Mhz 3x2GB
* HDD's: Intel Postville 80GB SSD OS,
* 2 Samsung Spinpoint F1 Raid0
* Coolermaster 1 Kw PSU
* Obsidian 800D
* X-fi Fatality
* Cooling wise: I use a dual loop system with 1 loop for cpu, and 1 for the gpu's
Both loops are powered by A MCP655. The Cpu is cooled by a Thermochill PA120.3,mounted in the bottom of the case, Gpu's use a Tfc exchanger 360 and 240.Fans I used are Zalman, Scythe and TFC, all controlled by Sentry2 Fancontroller.
8. Does your PC live up to your expectations ?
My rig does and does not life up to my expectations. Mainly because of the ATI driver issues with Eyefinity and Quadfire. I think this will be solved in the near future, and I can start enjoying 4 GPU's, and a higher electrical bill.....
9. What's the best part of your rig?
I think the best part of my rig is that it hits the Futuremark Orb top 20, and is very suitable for daily use, and...i tried to make it look like a little piece of art, I think I succeeded.
10. What sucks and should not have been bought?
I shouldn't have bought the Sentry2 Fancontroller .Although it does a good job keeping the fans RPMs down, it makes the fans buzz, a known issue at NZXT. I am looking for something new, but i can't find something similar. NZXT has told me and other customers that they will update the next revision. I'll wait for that and see what that's like.
11. Did you modify anything ? cases/video cards/other? Did you do it yourself? Walk us through it.
I modified several things in the case.
Because I mounted a bottom radiator, I had to remove the HDD cages ,and there had to be an extra vent hole in the bottom Ii used a Lian-Li Psu extender to make some more room in he lower compartment for the rad by moving the psu out back 60 mm.2 holes for tubing in the back were drilled for tubing to the rear rad. I have 1 tube running behind the Motherboard, so i had to remove some edges in the back of the case.
12. Your 3DMark06 / 3DMark Vantage score (P+GPU)
* Vantage score:P43238, 43485GPU/42514CPU
* 3dMark 06 score:32k
13. Do you have any Future updates planned ?
As far as updating, I have an extra Intel Postville on the way to be put in RAID0, I am still looking for another fan controller, and .. I have a GTX480 on its way to me from a gtx295 RMA, maybe we'll see another rig this year with 4 of these on a P6T7 supercomputer....only time will tell!
